JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing marketing strategies and programs to ensure maximum sales and profitability. Provide inspiration and leadership to create and manage fresh, innovative, integrated, and strategic marketing plans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Brand Management: * Develop distinct brand positioning for Zale Corporation portfolio of brands * Implement processes to create positioning, including research, analytics, and customer segmentation analysis, working closely with Consumer Insights team, Merchandising, Stores, and Direct teams * Ensure consistency in messaging and creative execution through all communications, including development of brand architecture and creative standards and guidelines * Approve all creative, ensuring work meets brand and sales goal needs, gaining approval from appropriate cross functional teamsStrategy Development and Implementation:
* Lead efforts in developing annual marketing plan * Develop media strategy and tactical plans: TV, magazine, digital, direct * Oversee production of all communications, maximizing effectiveness and efficiency, including TV, digital, direct mail, newspaper inserts, ensuring brand objectives are met, and budgets maintained * Oversee production scheduling, ensuring all deadlines, air dates, and drop dates are metPromotional Planning:
* Develop annual promotional calendar, working closely with Merchandise, Planning, Stores, and Direct teams * Make appropriate adjustments throughout the year to maximize revenue opportunities, maintaining margin goalsNew Product Launches and Affiliate Partnerships:
* Lead efforts to launch new merchandise initiatives and/or proprietary brands, including positioning, media, and creative strategy, overseeing execution * Liaison with outside merchandise vendors, and third party agenciesBudget Management:
* Set annual marketing budget, working within annual revenue goals by brand * Approve all estimates and invoices, ensuring project requirements are met and delivered within budget * Manage monthly and quarterly forecasts, adjusting accordingly to ensure budget is met * Manage monthly SG&A budgetAgency Liaison:
* Lead interface with outside agencies, including creative ad agency, media agency, and print production agency * Brief agencies on key projects, managing and prioritizing workload * Oversee management of agency fee structure and annual contract negotiation and approval Marketing Liaison: * Lead collaborative interaction with cross functional teams within organization, including Merchandise, Stores, Planning, and Direct * Ensure effective communication of marketing initiatives to organization, communicating up, down, and sideways * Work with cross functional teams to improve processes SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Oversee a staff of Marketing Directors, Managers, Professionals, and other support staff Job Requirements : QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, or related field * 10-12 years of experience in advertising, consumer product marketing, creative brand management, and/or marketing communications * Minimum of 7 years of management and strategic planning experience * Experience with retail organizations with a proven track record of leading and implementing successful marketing strategies
