Strategic Account Manager
Create, execute and lead development and execution of territory growth plan within a defined territory. He/She will do so by identifying key accounts and business opportunities and developing strategies and tactics to win business and drive long term growth. • Develop and maintain senior level relationships within key prime contractors to develop information on emerging programs and business requirements. • Partner with Capture leaders to support and in some cases lead capture strategy on key programs/accounts in order to win key programs and drive business inside that strategic account • Maintain business relationship with key customers to ensure needs are met and keep them abreast of new products/technologies for increased sales opportunities • Reviews all major deliverables (i.e. strategic brief, function spec, tech spec, etc.) to ensure quality standards and client expectations are met. • Ensures that client issues are dealt with in an efficient manner. • Works closely with the project team in order to maintain a continuous knowledge of project status in order to identify potential issues and/or opportunities within or related to the project. • Ensures that all processes and procedures are completed, quality standards are met, and that projects are profitable. • Aware and in pursuit of opportunities for account growth and new business • Provides regular two-way communication between the client and team, to provide strong team representation and set proper client expectations. • Deliver on bookings goals. • Successfully prospect, drive discovery, and secure new business, particularly on new and future Company-based products and services. • Provide added value to customers by understanding their current and future requirements and developing & implementing strategies to demonstrate Company leadership in fulfilling them. • Proactively and willingly leverage the Company team. Collaborate with specialists, market development, and other Account Managers to achieve personal, regional, BU, and corporate goals. • Provide timely, concise and accurate written information of account and opportunity status, plans and events. • Can be counted on by others who rely on you to deliver high quality and timely results.
Minimum/Basic Job Qualifications (skills, work experience, education/credentials): • BS in Technical Discipline. MBA a real plus • 7-10 years as (strategic) account manager in high technology firm with track record of delivering financial targets. • 5+ years broad experience in the defense market which should include selling to prime contractors and government, program, or program executive offices in some combination of the EO/ISR, Radar, Sonar, C4I, SIGINT, ELINT market space. • Experience with COTS products and embedded computing and software in defense applications is required. • Experienced practitioner of consultative selling methods (preferably SPI) and selling solutions & technical professional services • Intermediate level skills in use of sales technology including: SFDC, MS-Office, Eloqua etc • Candidates must be a US citizen
