Service Cost Claims Examiner- Do you have field experience in the areas of consumer electronics or home appliances? Ready to get out of the field and support our consumers over the phone in a great environment?
As our newest voice on the team, you will utilize your technical knowledge to work directly with consumers and service providers in support of our extended warranty business. You will use your knowledge of Home Appliances, Home Electronics, Plumbing, and/or HVAC Systems to validate the accuracy of claims submitted by service repair businesses to ensure we provide cost effective, quality repair and replacement services under extended protection plans. In addition, you will be encouraged to provide suggestions for improving processes and increasing efficiency in the department. In return, you'll have the opportunity to work with a manager known for identifying and developing talent, in a role with tremendous growth potential.
Responsibilities: * Support the claims process for repairs for home appliances, consumer electronics, plumbing, and HVAC and electrical systems * Validate the accuracy of claims submitted by service repair businesses to ensure we provide cost effective, quality repair and replacement services under extended protection plans * Work with repair technicians to validate/document repair information and adjust claims accordingly * Review repair estimates and determine whether it is more cost effective to repair or to replace * Approve repairs or replacements based on terms and conditions of extended warranty agreements * Enforce independent servicer agreements * Provide performance related feedback to Assurant's independent servicer network and communicate with internal teams to ensure that proper action is taken to correct performance Required Skills/Experience: * Previous claims adjudication experience or field service experience in one of the following service industries: Consumer Electronics, Home Appliances, Home Systems * Adept at using multiple Windows applications simultaneously * Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel * Demonstrated ability to multi-task * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Ability to type 25 wpm * Must be able to work any 40 hour shift between M-F 7:00 am-7:00 pm Desired Skills/Experience: * Associate degree or Technical certification is a plus * Telephone customer service experience is a plus
