Senior Planning and Architecture Engineer
- 6-10 years of information systems experience
- 6-10 years of telco systems experience and IP network services and protocols
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
- Experience with systems engineering and design including clustering and server farms
- Experience with performance measurement and capacity planning
- 4 years experience supporting commercial, 24x7, Internet-facing systems
- Understanding of relational database technologies and SQL (preferably Oracle)
- Strong understanding of IP network services and protocols
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Demonstrated leadership skill
- Demonstrated decision-making skills- Lead the review and approval of new commercial data and voice platform architectures and designs (ex. Backup Assistant, IMS Core (CSCFs, HSS, 4G AAA, HLR), SLF/DRA, etc.) submitted to NNO by PDI (Brian Higgins's and Marjorie Hsu's organizations), HQ Planning, etc.
- Be the lead interface for NNO with HQ Planning on systems under his/her responsibility (architecture discussions, new products, product roadmaps, etc.)
- Lead effort to improve existing commercial products to make them more reliable, scalable, and supportable
- Lead multi-departmental teams to merge long-term plans with operational requirements
- Develop 2-year plans and submit the annual budget for commercial data platforms that provide service to VzW customers (ex. AAA, DNS, IMS Core, SLF/DRA)
- Create guidelines and standards to be followed by PDI and NNO departments for commercial systems
- Provide in-depth knowledge and advanced proficiency in system operations, engineering, and support during the product development process for new and existing systems
