The Operations Manager leads and supports a mobile team of technicians. Provides technical knowledge/experience to implement processes and support techs. The Operations Manager is responsible for bringing "everything" together from all participating organizations; professionally installing equipment to the highest performance standards possible; and for leaving a positive impression on customers. As a direct ALU contact for customers, the Operations Manager performs the critical function of 'Customer Advocate'.
Locations will be Dallas (Ft. Worth) Texas, Charlotte, NC, Boston/Framingham, MA, Kansas City MO, and New York, NY.
Key Responsibilities / Functions: Delivery of the Telecom installation service: * Performs job coordination and planning functions such as reviewing schedules to identify job intervals, addressing material issues, evaluating skill requirements, assessing resource requirements versus availability, approving quality plans (MOPs), assisting with site surveys, coordinating job/customer visits, working with customer, etc. * Ensure job delivered at or above the expected efficiency * Ensure resources are fully utilized * Responsible for meeting customer requested completion dates (CRCD). * Communicates order status information to the Operations Area Manager (OAM) and PM. * Manages multiple customers and products. * Works with the Engineering and PM in setting up and conducting site surveys and works with the quality team for quality audits. * Performs job completion review functions pertaining to equipment and document turnover to the customer and * Works within stringent guidelines of the Union Contract.
Responsible for administrative functions such as: * Approving transfers, purchases and lodging arrangements * Verifying and approving the preparation of time reports for each installer which includes reviewing the completeness of job folders. * Approving and maintaining reports for accident investigations, quality reviews and audits, production, efficiency, safety, inventory, workload planners, cost reports, vacation schedules, overtime, human resources, medical and training. * Coordinating and interfacing with the OAM, outside vendors and contractors as well as other ALU organizations. * Meeting with customers as soon as products are released to avoid problems later.
Resource development and management: * Evaluates the training needs/requirements of installers and leads the team in such a way as to provide the opportunities necessary for the installers to achieve their development plan objectives. * Directs or coaches employees relative to performance, annual reviews, company policies, labor contracts, etc., in order to advance them. * Enforces performance plans in conjunction with input from OAM and Operations Director Required Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge)
o Experience in Installation Services or equivalent field construction experienceo Creating & managing a multi-market organization focused on delivery o Superior verbal and written communication o Expert organizational and process management o Exceptional persuasion and negotiation o Accomplished interpersonal o Exceptional leadership, coaching, training and mentoring o Bachelor's degree or equivalent required o Masters or advanced degrees desired
Desired Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge) Desired qualifications include: Demonstrated abilities to manage field crews and deal with customers in Installation, Electrical, Construction, Satellite/Cable or similar industries.
