Description Position Summary: Much as an integrated marketing agency's account manager is the link to its clients, the market activation manager initiates and tracks the production projects supporting the Financial Services Group (FSG) Americas' marketing campaigns and other initiatives day-to-day, ensuring they are produced to CSC standards, on time and on budget. Primary duties include:
Relationship management
Project tracking and management
Financial management and reporting
As a member of CSC's FSG Marketing team, the market activation manager contributes to other internal and external marketing and communications projects as appropriate. The Communications Senior Professional's assignments may include:
Assisting in the planning, implementation and development of moderately complex communications projects in the areas of advertising and promotional programs, public relations and trade shows to ensure company goals are met.
Implementing complex packaging and distribution of marketing materials to ensure proper dissemination of company messages to target markets.
Serving as liaison between the company and its customers, partners, trade associations, outside vendors and media audiences to promote communication and information flow.
Participating in the development of more complex plans for product promotion to support company marketing objectives.
Preparing more complex materials for internal and external presentations on products, business plans and management communications in order to promote company agenda.
Serving as editor for formal business communications as necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as liaison and primary contact between CSC's FSG Marketing Americas editorial and design team and the marketing managers (clients) supporting the business units to ensure initiation and execution of assigned market activation programs and projects.
Manages client relationship, communication and satisfaction with production service levels and quality.
Follows FSG Marketing processes to initiate, manage and communicate status of market activation programs and projects and associated budget for client, including advertising, trade shows, collateral, user groups and direct marketing campaigns.
Follows FSG Marketing processes to coordinate financial management for market activation, including tracking, analyzing and reporting budgets, expenditures and forecasts. Works with client at least monthly to adjust plans as needed to maximize value from market activation budget.
Advises and assists marketing managers on campaign development.
Identifies and communicates marketing best practices.
Contributes to continuous improvement of FSG Marketing processes and practices.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, communication or related field preferred
Six or more years of marketing communications experience
Experience working with company products and operating systems
Experience working with communications practices, principles and procedures
Experience working with problem management tools
Additional Qualifications:
Experience working with marketing practices, principles and procedures, preferably in a corporate environment
Project management experience
Experience managing budgets and expenses
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Superior listening and coaching skills
Strong interpersonal skills to establish and nurture relevant relationships and use them to mutual advantage over time
Internal and external teaming and relationship development at all levels
Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
Ability to work without close supervision in ambiguous situations
Demonstration of creativity, ingenuity, energy, determination and persistence
PC proficiency with standard office and e-mail products, including use of Excel for financial management
The ideal candidate's background also includes the following knowledge and skills, which are preferred but not required:
Marketing communications experience in a business-to-business environment (not just consumer goods and services)
Experience representing IT services providers or software companies
Understanding of financial services industry strategies and trends
Understanding of information technology strategies and trends
Understanding of financial services industry technology
