SUMMARY The Sr. Financial Analyst prepares and develops existing and new monthly reports, analyzes individual country financial data and performs analysis and research as needed for senior management. The principal business outcome of this position is to provide organizational leaders with accurate, timely financial data for decision-making. This position works independently; the associate will interact with a supervisor as needed, but most activities are completed without the supervisor’s advance approval. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* * Review accounting reserve calculations including shrink, obsolescence, and percent rent. * Assist in applying metrics related to inventory, accounts payable, sales, etc. in a uniform method to all countries. * Assist with monthly International close process. * Respond to daily informational requests from country finance directors and senior management. * Assist in the quarterly and annual reviews by auditors * Create and prepare month end closing schedules such as Key Metric summary comparison by country. * Respond to senior management questions during month and quarter end close. * Conduct ad hoc financial analyses related to store & country performance including New Store Proforma and weekly Sales & Margin Analysis. * Apply US GAAP accounting concepts in the international countries. * Assist with the quarterly forecasting process by reviewing the submitted forecasts, interpreting trends, and identifying issues. * Assist with the annual budget process by reviewing the submitted budgets. BASICAND PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE) * Bachelors degree in an accredited accounting or finance program required * At least three years of related accounting or finance supervisory and/or management experience required — Retail accounting experience preferred * Eligible to pursue and sit for CPA Exam and/or MBA preferred * Experience with foreign exchange or IFRS preferred * Experience with Essbase, Navision, Great Plains and/or Lawson preferred * Must be able to work extended, non-traditional hours as needed during peak accounting periods, such as month-end or year-end reporting periods MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES * Proficient knowledge of office computer platforms and applications, including Excel and Outlook * Proficient knowledge of technical accounting principals * Ability to enter, retrieve, analyze, recognize discrepancies, organize, and report electronic financial data (retail) * Ability to initiate and respond to work errors in a professional manner, working collaboratively and cooperatively with others * Ability to communicate effectively in English with management and co-workers, including the ability to deliver presentations as needed to small groups within the organization * Demonstrated commitment to widely accepted, professionally mandated accounting principles and practices and to related GameStop accounting policies and procedures * Detailed oriented and effective at research issues and problem solving * Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities in order to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities * Ability to comprehend and adhere to all GameStop policies, including those related to scheduling and attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and honesty and ethical conduct Job Location Grapevine, TX, US.
