Industrial Automation Controls Engineer
Responsible for the designing software interfaces, programming and testing automated industrial systems. Develop specifications, programming, control schematics, PLC logic and implement solutions which deliver exception value to our customers. Work closely with the overall project team to design systems which exceed the project requirements.
Primary Responsibilities include: • Design system layouts schematics and control devices • Electrical design to meet NFPA, NEC, OSHA and applicable standards • Create a control sequence of operation document to ensure that the design meets our customer’s expectations • Creates (PLC) Programmable Logic Control program • Work closely with the Controls Engineering team to integrate control solutions • Perform on-site commissioning to implement and validate the system design • Design, programming and startup of automated machinery. • Software development, process development and robot programming. • Assist in preparation of system quotations. • Provide technical support to customers, application engineers, and project managers. • Responsible for system startups at customer facility. • Work on several projects in various stages of completion. • Travel required to various customers’ facilities.
Requirements:
The Ideal Candidate shall: • Work well as part of a team • Demonstrate creative thinking • Be familiar with AutoCAD and SolidWorks • Experience in programming Fanuc and/or Motoman robots is a plus • Proven track record of exceeding customer expectations • Have excellent communication skills • Be self-motivated Educational Requirements: • A Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science/Engineering is required • 3-5 Years of related experience is preferred
