Global Logistics Analyst (Sports Marketing/Retail)
The Logistics Analyst assists in the responsibilities for the international logistics department. This includes the traffic and transportation of all our company's Sports goods and services, with the objective that all products be delivered on time, to the proper destination, in the quantity ordered, and with the agreed upon quality standards at the lowest price possible to be consistent with the expectations of the company and our customers.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform cost analyzes to determine the lowest possible total cost that is consistent with the needs of the company.
Responsible for reporting and analysis of spend and trends by cost per unit for freight, duty and cargo management fees
Responsible for logistics budget center; maintaining cost analysis reports
Working closely with Accounts Payable to ensure that freight payments are made and freight is not delayed
Publish key performance indicators for ocean and air spend
Providing Cost Analysis that support strategically important global decisions made by upper-management
Negotiating freight rates with air freight and ocean freight providers and subsequently working with said providers in the process of building relationships and enhancing the supply chain of our company's Sports
Providing support to individuals within our company Sports Operations; including the Distribution Centers, owned and contracted, foreign and domestic, once a shipment is In-Transit
Working closely with Accounts Payable to ensure that freight payments are made and freight is not delayed
Continuously improve upon the workings of a complex global supply chain in an ever changing international environment
Work with carriers, customs broker, 3PL's on traffic flow/management issues for all Inbound containers including direct.
Provide visibility to business units on delivery status
Lead the analysis and provide statistical information on the tracking of product shipments,
Assist in tracking expedited freight
Assist the warehouse with inbound receiving problems
Manage and lead the growth of direct ship business within our company.
Publish invoicing status, communicate deliveries with customers, manage the set up process with the planning team, sales team and customer service team.
Maintain accurate file system to ensure compliance with audit requirements
Follow company policy and procedures, Team Values, Vendor Assessment, Signature Authority and other sections/procedures as applicable.
Promote continuous improvement and value-added management in a service and team oriented basis.
Proactively accepts additional duties and/or responsibilities as directed by the Manager of International Logistics or SR Logistics Analyst
Manage the supply chain in an effort to find opportunities for reducing our total cost while maintaining quality and on-time-delivery metrics
Education and Training:
High school degree or equivalent required
Business Administration and / or Supply Chain Management degree.
Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a Traffic Management, International Logistics and/or a customs brokers environment
Understanding of accounting principles.
Experience in MRP II.
Experience in SAP, preferred
Experience in retail/sporting goods industry a plus
