Description As a Senior Communication Professional overseeing a Hospitality Platform, you will develop a communication strategy to establish the presence of Pillar in the market, manage the Pillar brand and oversee the internal communication for the company. Reporting to the President of the Company, you will work closely with our senior leadership team to ensure we have the materials required to engage successfully with our customers.
The successful candidate has proven communication experience in Journalism, Marketing or a related communication field. You are an original thinker with great personal influencing skills and experience to contribute both individually and as part of a team. Comfortable with complexity, you are able to analyze and understand extensive business scenarios and derive insightful communication strategies in line with corporate objectives. You are able to frame the strategic view coupled with the proven ability to drive tactical delivery in support of business objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
Draft and manage content for the company's internal and external websites
Assist other department members with branding, advertising and select marketing activities
Draft/edit press releases, media pitches and supporting materials
Direct proactive media relations outreach program to obtain favorable news coverage
Target publications, coordinate executive management interviews and prepare message points/Q&A
Write and edit copy for employee and customer communications, including executive management speeches, customer/employee videos, PowerPoint presentations, brochures, etc.
Lead company's crisis communications planning and emergency response plans
Collaborate with business units to gain ongoing knowledge of company and industry
Conduct research and provide analytical support for internal and external communications
Coordinate news retrieval and distribution process
Manage PR contact management database and other third-party resources
Manage employee communications in collaboration with senior management to educate and motivate the company's workforce
Note: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management
Requirements Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 7 years recent Communications experience with a Bachelor's degree.
Skills and Qualities:
Strong leadership skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Attention to detail
Strong Marketing and Branding experience
Planning and organizational ability
Strong skills in editing and proofreading
Ability to prepare and present presentations to various stakeholders
Ability to gather, analyze and confirm accuracy of data
Proven ability to deal with highly-sensitive and confidential information
Comfortable interacting with all levels within the organization, as well as external audiences
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 2007, and various on-line news gathering sources and social media tools/platforms
Works well under pressure with aggressive deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work independently when required
Hospitality experience a plus.
