Description

“THIS POSITION MUST BE FILLED IN DALLAS, TX – IF YOU’RE OUTSIDE OF THIS GEOGRAPHIC AREA YOU MUST BE WILLING TO RELOCATE AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE”

As a Lead Benefits Consultant in Benefit Health & Welfare Operations, you will be a subject matter expert responsible for both the administration and delivery of health and welfare benefit plans and programs. You must be able to understand and interpret benefit plans and insurance policy documents, vendor contracts, collective bargaining agreements and documentation, and have general knowledge of ERISA, IRC, DOL, COBRA, HIPAA and other applicable Benefits regulations. You must possess project management and operational skills which permit you to effectively execute change management with AT&T vendors as well as within Benefits. The successful candidate is familiar with systems and record layouts and able to manage the flow of employee data from AT&T to external vendors. You will create implementation specifications and process documentation and manage assigned projects, implementations and ongoing vendor performance. You will engage internal and external resources as required including third party administrators, Procurement, Payroll, Legal, consultants, and other industry groups. You must analyze data to identify benefit plan trends, maximize plan/vendor performance, create efficiencies, reduce expense, and provide customer service. You may develop and assess Requests for Proposals (RFPs), assist with the selection of vendors and negotiate contracts and service metrics. You may assess, recommend, and implement health and welfare benefit programs and/or process changes to maximize participant engagement and service, provide quality care solutions, and control costs. You will develop helpful and accurate participant communications as well as develop and give presentations for leadership or group meetings.

Qualifications

Required Skills:
At least five years of relevant experience in benefits, human resources, and/or project management. Leadership and analytical abilities. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are essential. Qualified candidates should have the ability to deal with ambiguous and complex problems and business situations. A successful candidate will be a problem solver who can mediate and communicate persuasively to all levels of leadership and possess strong analytical skills. Extensive experience working on teams as well as individual contributor experience is essential.
Desired Skills
Bachelor's Degree. You must be a self-starter who is detail oriented, operates with limited supervision and enjoys a challenging environment. Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or a Masters degree in Human Resources, MBA or Finance are a plus. Third party benefit administrator experience, knowledge of SAP payroll systems and mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project. Six Sigma experience and/or training.
