Baylor Medical Center at Garland
Garland, TX
Baylor Medical Center at Garland aims to serve its communities with new services located beyond the hospital's traditional campus. In March 2005, the North Garland Surgery Center, a joint venture between the medical center, 25 physicians and the Texas Health Ventures Group, opened. The center is offering same-day surgeries across a variety of medical disciplines, including plastic surgery, pain management, general surgery, urology, orthopedics, podiatry, and ear nose and throat. Patients using the medical services at the main hospital campus still will find advanced medical technology in heart and vascular care, breast health, women's services, neonatal intensive care, digestive disease, medical imaging and physical medicine and rehabilitation.
The new Ruth and Don Buchholz pavilion, opened in August 2004, serves as a focal point for the 220-bed Baylor Medical Center at Garland. From the outside, the pavilion unifies the medical center and the adjoining physician office building into a sleek medical complex. The 103,000 square-foot, four story pavilion added 50 patient beds, expanded the heart and vascular center and the admissions/registration department. Other new amenities in the pavilion are the Hartman Chapel, community resource center and a larger, more comfortable, intensive care unit waiting area with overnight family accommodations. The pavilion's lobby creates the ambience resembling an elegant hotel.
The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for supervision of all nursing and unit-based personnel on the designated shift in order to provide a safe environment for optimum patient care. Assist in implementing policies and procedures to achieve desired goals and objectives. Facilitate in the development of budgets, continued quality improvement and Councilor Management Programs.
